B. Indonesia PROSESI UPACARA TAWUR AGUNG DI CANDI PRAMBANAN
paragraf 1 :
Upacara Tawur Agung (Tawur Agung Kesanga) merupakan rangkaian upacara yang digelar
menjelang hari Raya Nyepi. Tawur Agung Kesanga bertujuan untuk membersihkan dan
mewisuda bumi sebelum Nyepi, yakni umat akan melaksanakan tapa brata penyepian.
Sebelumnya umat Hindu melakukan upacara Melasti. Hari Raya Nyepi didasarkan pada
kalender tahun Saka yaitu sistem penanggalan yang berasal dari India. Hitungan penanggalan
tahun Saka dimulai pada tahun 78 Masehi. Sistem penanggalan ini lalu berkembang dan
digunakan di Indonesia, terutama oleh masyarakat Hindu.
Paragraf 2 :
Prosesi Upacara Tawur Agung dalam rangkaian perayaan hari raya Nyepi umat Hindu
dimulai dari pelataran parkir Kraton Ratu Boko menuju Candi Prambanan. Umat Hindu
membawa air suci yang diambil dari sumber air yang terdapat di Kawasan Keraton Ratu
Boko. Kawasan Keraton Ratu Boko tidak jauh dari Candi Prambanan.
Paragraf 3 :
Arak-arak umat Hindu yang membawa air suci(tirta suci) disebut prosesi Mendak Tirta
yang dipimpin oleh pedanda. Mereka berjalan beriringan yang diikuti beberapa peserta lain.
Arak-arakan itu sangat meriah karena peserta lain ada menggelar atraksi barongsai,
berkostum wayang dan beberapa gunungan. Arak-arakan yang membawa air suci, ini berjalan
kaki menuju ke komplek Candi Prambanan yang berjarak empat kilometer ke arah utara.
Paragraf 4 :
Umat Hindu yang tidak mengikuti arak-arakan ini langsung menuju pelataran kompleks
candi Prambanan dengan membawa sesaji. Kemudian, sesaji tersebut di taruh di meja panjang
yang disiapkan di pelataran candi. Ketika tiba di komplek Candi Prambanan, para pemangku
pura langsung melakukan ritual Pradaksina. Dalam suasana yang khusyuk para umat pun
melakukan laku pradaksina tersebut. Ritual pradaksina dilakukan dengan mengelilingi Candi
Syiwa selama tiga putaran. Sebelumnya dilakukan pengambilan air suci yang disemayamkan
di tiga candi yaitu Candi Brahma, Candi Wisnu. dan Candi Syiwa. Dewa Syiwa dalam
kepercayaan umat Hindu adalah Dewa yang bertugas meleburkan segala sesuatu yang sudah
using dan tidak dipergunakan lagi di bumi. Dewa Wisnu adalah dewa yang memelihara dan
melindungi seluruh ciptaan Dewa Brahma. Sementara itu, Dewa Brahma adalah dewa yang
menciptakan alam semesta beserta isinya.
Paragraf 5 :
Para pemangku pura membawa air suci menuju pelataran komplek Candi Prambanan
untuk memulai acara Tawur Agung setelah selesai melakukan upacara Pradaksina. Upacara
ini diikuti oleh seluruh umat Hindu yang berasal dari Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta dan Jawa
Tengah. Acara ini dimulai dengan atraksi beberapa tarian yang berasal dari Bali dan Jawa
Tengah. Acara tari-tarian tersebut ikut menyemarakkan acara Tawur Ageng.
